Eleonora and Samee's wedding: Mendhi

Eleonora and Samee, who travelled from the UK to Grenada to celebrate their destination wedding in Granada. There were two days of celebration with two different ceremonies (you can watch the second day here). They opted for our full organisational service as wedding designer and planner.

On the first day, the one we report on here, we held a Mendhi of Turkish origin. We chose a place with history, a beautiful palace in Granada. The Garden of Gomérezwhere we celebrate the Mendhi and a cocktail party followed by dancing.

Eleonora, is of Turkish origin, which makes her Mendhi followed Turkey's own traditions. In their tradition, in the henna ritual they cover the bride with a red veil, a beautiful ritual, accompanied by music. The ceremony ends with the bride weeping, grieving to leave her family to become part of her husband's family. At this point, the groom's family dresses her in jewellery.

Like wedding designer and planner of this wedding, we designed a Mendhi with a vibrant colour palette of reds, purples and luminous golds. Carolina Bouquet masterfully realised this idea.

After the ceremony, a cocktail reception was served and dances were held, where the guests and the bride and groom danced traditional dances together.

The photography was taken care of by Isa Molina and of the video Mr Philm (you can see it at the end of this post).
