A romantic wedding among skulls, red roses, candles and velvet.
The wedding of Mª Ángeles and Enrique is one of those weddings that will always have a very special place in our hearts. And it is not only because it is a themed wedding, a gothic wedding, so unusual. It is above all because of the beautiful relationship that we have kept with the bride and groom from all the preparations. They are the kind of people who come as clients and stay as much more.
From the beginning, they both trusted us completely to help them in the complete organisation of your wedding. As wedding planners, we advise you from the beginning, from the search for space, catering, and all the needs that arose around your wedding.

In one of the many meetings we had with Mª Ángeles, we started talking about the cake, and when she showed me the ideas they had, what they both liked, I asked her: do you like the gothic style? And she said, yes! And that's how it was, when I proposed to give a gothic touch to the wedding.
We tried at all times to do it in an elegant way, more in the style of the interview with the vampire, rather than the traditional classic gothic. To do this we avoided excessive clichés and created something very personal for them. We worked with a colour palette where black, greys, reds and purples were the chosen tones. The lighting, as you will discover later, played a very important role, based on indirect lights and candles.
So discover this gothic wedding, where without a doubt, we surprised all the guests, who on the day of the wedding, lived a gothic wedding in first person.
PREPARATIONS
For the preparations, they both dressed in the Hotel Palacio de los Patos. Without a doubt, all its suites are an architectural marvel and a perfect space for the preparations. In the heart of Granada in a unique enclave, this old palace has exquisite suites inside, all of them different and special.
Enrique got dressed surrounded by his siblings and his mother. In a suite where its wooden ceilings and large windows were part of the perfect setting for his preparations. He is passionate about art and this space was a perfect fit for him.

All the groom's preparations were perfectly taken care of, from the shoes to the small details, all in keeping with the gothic theme of the wedding.

The suit, without a doubt, was one of those choices that gave personality to the groom's look. The groom opted for a black suit with a burgundy and grey print that had a lot of personality and fit him like a glove. Diakara Bride and Groom was in charge of dressing the groom.
Enrique complemented his look with a wristwatch and personalised cufflinks, all in keeping with the aesthetics of the wedding.
In the preparations, he was accompanied by his mother, who also chose red for both her dress and hairstyle. A godmother of impact.

Mª Ángeles visited herself surrounded by her family in another of the hotel's suites. A room with lots of light where we also took care of all the details and complements of her look, from the dress (a total look from Pronovias), as well as shoes and accessories.

One of the details that undoubtedly surprised the most, was the spectacular bouquet that Carolina Bouquet designed for Mª Ángeles. A bouquet in red and black, which was a true work of art.

The bouquet was finished off with a long burgundy ribbon from which hung a cameo with a photo of the bride's parents. Mº Ángeles complemented her look with a porcelain headdress with white and red flowers that perfectly matched the back of her dress, which highlighted the back with tattoo effect lace.
Undoubtedly, Mª Ángeles surprised with a romantic and elegant look where all the details were taken care of, and which she finished off with a beautiful up-do and make-up that enhanced her features.
Ceremony
The ceremony was held in the Sagrario Catedral Church on a hot August afternoon, when the sun shone as brightly as ever. Enrique, accompanied by his mother, walked down the aisle of the church and waited for Mª Ángeles at the altar.
Mª Ángeles arrived at the Church in a classic car, a 1951 Mercedes Benz 170 SD, from the company Weddings and Cars. She was accompanied by Paco, Enrique's brother, who was the best man. And we were there to welcome her, to help her get out of the car and walk the last few metres to the altar.

Mª Ángeles was radiant, she gave off that special glow of happiness that we love in our brides. She radiated joy and happiness, and that was transmitted throughout the ceremony.

Accompanied by their family and friends, around fifty people, we lived a very emotional and special ceremony with them.

At the exit of the ceremony, all their guests and a large group of onlookers were waiting with a shower of coloured rice to welcome the newlyweds.

Celebration
Mª Ángeles and Enrique chose for the celebration of their wedding, a beautiful and charming Rural Hotel. The Huerta Nazaríis located in the town of Alomartes, about 35 minutes from Granada. A rural hotel in the middle of nature where they celebrated their wedding and where all their guests stayed.
As soon as they arrived at the Hotel, the bride and groom took advantage of the surroundings to have their wedding photos taken. Alejandro Onieva. La Veta Films was in charge of their wedding film.

STAGING
Undoubtedly, in a themed wedding, the staging work becomes the great challenge in terms of design. And as you can imagine, in a gothic wedding, there are certain elements that are key and we have to take care of them as much as possible from the beginning.
In the case of the gothic wedding of Mª Ángeles and Enrique, that work started with the design of the stationery. We worked as a team with Petipresswho designed the invitations, the seating plan and all the wedding signage.
Once we had defined the colour palette and the stationery as mentioned above, the next step was the staging in terms of furniture, props, floral decoration, etc.
In doing so, it was essential to work as a team with the Catering La Borraja (who provided tables, chairs and kitchenware) and with the florist and decorator, Carolina Bouquet who was in charge of the rest of the elements (flowers, props, fabrics, etc.).
The result was an important staging where every element brought you closer to the theme, in an elegant and very romantic way.
In terms of gastronomy, we also worked closely with the caterer to personalise the menu as much as possible. From the cocktail, we took care of the staging to the millimetre and even adapted references from the cocktail to the theme, such as the macaron cheese, which became purple and had a raspberry crunch.

As night fell, the area where the dinner was to be held took on a more gothic aesthetic. The decoration of the space was tinged with night and smoke. For this, we organised the entrance of the bride and groom, who did so with two smoke flares that dyed the space in a dark fog.

The dinner around the pool made for a very pleasant evening on a summer night in August. In addition, the decorations took on even more significance when the candles and candelabras were lit.

Each of the dinner dishes were adapted to the gothic theme of the wedding. The first, "Ambrosia" was a tomato soup with cockles that simulated a blood soup; the second, "The Stake", was old cow on a cream of Granada that simulated the blood of having been nailed by the stake; and finally, the dessert was a "Draculín" of chocolate and red fruits that we have eaten so much as children.
And as in every wedding, the bride and groom cut the cake, a cake with skulls and flowers that had a band that said: "Till death do us part". And how could it be otherwise, the bride and groom cut it by sticking a sword in it, like a stake.
After dinner, the bride and groom were able to enjoy the cake and the gothic sweets table that was set up for them. Lussocake prepared for their wedding. A table that lacked no detail, in keeping with the gothic wedding theme.

At the party, we took care of all the details, and among other things, the guests were able to enjoy a "vampire blood" cocktail while they enjoyed the bride and groom's dance, under more than adequate red lights.
